Or stop by local surfshop and pick up a coiled boogie-board leash and make your own. Even making your own from scratch with bungie works well since you don't need the strength of a surfing leash to keep your boat around if you happen to take a swim. Often surfing buddies or shops have the velcro cuffs and end pieces from broken/stretched leashes lying around you get get for free. Then again, 28 bucks supporting the OC industry is a good thing too...

click on surf and then select surf leashes.
The coil type bodyboard leashes work the best.
