I've had the Garmin 310XT for a few weeks now, it's great that it is much lighter and fits on my smaller wrist better than the 305 I had (which died from water intrusion, I opened i tup and it was all corroded inside) HOWEVER, my unit just started having trouble charging, when I connect it to the charger it charges for five seconds, turns itself off, turns itself on again, charges for five seconds, etc etc.
I made sure everything is dry, cleaned off the contacts, they don't look discolored or affected in any way (which was a problem with my 305, I had to keep cleaning off the contacts with a pencil eraser to get the thing to charge) so anybody have any suggestions, or anyone else have this problem? The Garmin site doesn't have any advice on it yet regarding this.

Not sure if this will solve your problem but it looks like Garmin found some issues and resolved with a new firmware for that model?

The following site also seems to have a lot of information on issues with that particular model with an active forum that might have some insight...

Good luck.

Hey thanks for the links, I didn't find the motionbased ones doing a search, and that site was very helpful. I did a hard reset and the unit seems to work again, but we'll see.........I still haven't tried to download info from it to the computer so I won't mess with the firmware upgrade until I hear a little more about it and make sure I have everything in order first. Really appreciate the help!
