2nd Annual Caladesi Island Race - 7.4 miles - Florida, Mar 5

Strongest showing of OC1's this season. Was a beautiful Florida day. The
race stated on Honeymoon Island, heading South 3 miles down the Gulf of
Mexico, turning in land for a portage of 100 yds into the Intracoastal
Waterway heading back to Honeymoon Island having completed a complete
rounding of Caladesi Island (repeatedly named as top 10 beaches in the
World)

John Edwards on his Hurricane started in fine form chasing Andy Gerber on
his Huki ski, however, when hitting the portage, John simply dropped the
field. Having also built himself a super shoal rudder, John was also able
to cut the shoals which built an insurmountable lead. Everyone also knows
that once John is ahead, he is pretty impossible to pass.

Everyone enjoyed themselves, a great lunch and great awards followed by a
plentiful raffle. Thank you to Karen and Rob Mirlenbrink as well as all the
Parks Board folks for organizing this fun event.
