hmm, personally i really like the mirage better, especially the two, it really slides into turns and flows into the wind. It doesnt chop, with a quick light stroke the boat glides and cuts the wind. And with karel building the mirage, you can bet the mirage does amazing in the surf, especially with the flat bowl like bottom, it has alot of buoyancy to carry on waves. I hope i interpreted that correctly.
I love the Lightning, especially how it turns so well. Put 'em side by side on a trailer. The Lightning seems to have more stern volume and rocker. I think it catches waves well, too. In the end.......it's all about the motor!!
