Hawaiian Canoe Club presents the 3rd Annual Pailolo Challenge!!! This OC6 Race from Maui to Molokai is fast becoming one of paddlers favorite races during the distance season. With divisions for 9 man and Iron crews this fast downwind 26 mile surf course has something to offer for everyone. Its timing is perfect for crews looking to get an extra race out of shipping their canoe for the Na Wahine O Ke Kai or Molokai Hoe races. Ship your canoe to Maui then paddle to Moloka`i!!!!! Our race is scheduled for Saturday September 19th 2009. Our committee is working hard with our sponsors to make this the best Pailolo Challenge to date. well that wont work for a lot of mens crews, as the henry ayau race is i think on Sept 20th -- is there another weekend?

You are correct. The Henry Ayau Race has followed our race for the past two years. We pick this date because it is an ideal way for Men and Women Crews to get two races out of their shipping cost of Wa'a. Ship to Maui... paddle to Moloka
i and then paddle the channel!!!! Our race is the weekend before the Na Wahine and two weeks before Molokai Hoe.P.S. Men crews can always "man up" and do both races.... last year several crews did and this year we already know of several mens crews that plan on doing both Pailolo and Henry Ayau.
