Two weeks til Steinlager Catalina Team Relay
The Catalina relay is just two weeks away. The entry's are flowing in and it is looking to be a great turn out. We have made some significant changes to the race this year.
The most significant are the race start times. This year the start times will be 9:00, 9:30, and 10:00. For those of you that have work conflicts or escort boat issues you will have options to come out to Catalina the day of the race. There is a flyer that leaves from Long beach at 6:15 arriving Avalon 7:30, You can also come out with your escort boat. You must be pre registered, There is NO race day registration, Number pick up only. Entry's must be postmarked by Sat March 18th to avoid late fees. The start times were will allow for an easier morning as well as giving us some good bumps into Dana Point.
Another change is the addition of paddleboards and a three person OC-1 division. Paddleboards will have a stock and Unlimited class. If you are someone that wants to do the channel but doesn't feel comfortable with the distance or just doesn't like the distance this is a great opportunity for you to do the race. It also keeps costs down.
We have some great prizes including Two round trip tickets from Hawaiian Airlines for the Expedia.com Kauai World Challenge, Free rooms in Kauai. And lots more from our sponsors Patagonia, Hurricane, Kialoa Paddles, Wavechaser, Ohana Paddle boards, Zinka, Native Eyewear, And Hennesseys Tavern. There will be prize money which will be determined by number of entrants and divisions.

If you are in Northern California and need your canoe brought down to be loaded on the ferry we will have a trailer leaving that Tuesday to bring you boats down to Long Beach. Please contact us for details.
