That happened to me and a few friends while paddling our one-mans off Makaha Beach earlier this year.We all stopped to turn around and had just started to paddle when a humpback surfaced in front of us to our 2 O'clock about 50 feet away.
Somebody shouted, "Whale!!!" and we all just went into sprint mode.
