Anywhere I can try/rent a one-man canoe in the San Francisco Bay Area?

Hey folks,

Looking to get into OC paddling, but before I make a snap decision and buy a $2,000 - $3,000 boat, I want to make sure I like it ^_^

I have seen clubs around the Bay Area where I could get the chance to paddle in a multi-person canoe, etc., but I'm really interested in a single to paddle around Alameda where I live.

Does anyone know of a way to do this? Any and all advice is appreciated.

Mahalo,
J

There are a few clubs that have told me that they would just let me borrow one if i wanted to try out the various types of oc1's that they had. the oc community in the bay area (heck, everywhere for that matter) is a very closeknit group and they help each other out a lot.

O Kalani is the closest club to you. We are based at the Jack London Aquatic Center, on the Oakland side of the Estuary. We routinely paddle Monday tru Thursday at 6pm, and Saturdays at 9am.

Come on down & introduce yourself. We welcome new paddlers. Once we get you in a canoe & paddle with us for a while, we have two OC1s (A Kaku & a Huki V1-X) on-site that are routinely loaned out to members that don't own one.

We have a pretty active group of OC1 paddlers. Give us a try.
