With the Outrigger men's distance crew winning the 21 mile Kaena Challenge last weekend going iron man and adding three paddlers to the crew for the Duke race, I'll go with them as the overall winner too. Should be a real horse race with the Primo all stars.

Those 5 mentioned wil be in the top 10. How about Imua from Calif., who just won up there. Also if OCC's 40 crew paddles it will in the mix. Is Keahou coming over?

Those of us who can't be there would very much appreciate race updates if possible. Makapu'u...Portlock.... Diamond Head...

No predictions, but fortunately it won't be a 5- or 10- horse race...because turnout at registration was outstanding, both mens and womens. Reminder for those wanting to follow from the coast vantage points, wahine iron race designed to start at 7:30, then an hour of racing, then crew changeout, coach/steer meeting, registration last-minutes, etc., etc. It will be flat, so wahine race should move along without incident, and men's lineup should form quickly for their start. Men's race could start as early as 9:30. Leaders to Makapu'u by 10:15 or so.

The guys from Imua OCC- California, enjoyed the race and paddled hard. We felt we learned alot from the fierce competition on Sunday and the conditions around Makapu'u Point. We are thankful from the alohas and mahalos from these teams we competed against on Sunday. Special thanks to Craig Gamble and his team from Outrigger, Tyson Poppler from Kailua for setting up the trailer for us at the finish, also for the guys from Kailua for giving us a great competitive race. Karel Tresnek for getting our new M2 to race in. Special thanks to BMack & Jay Griffin and the whole club of Hui Lanakila for beers at your site after the race.
I feel these are great reasons to race in Hawaii and to compete with great athletes, and race with great friends.

Mahalos
