OC-2 with only one paddler

Someone submitted another question, but I'm putting it here instead of on the front.

HI I am an OC-6 paddler and I am looking to buy an OC-1 or OC-2 for additional practice and enjoyment. OC-1 is the obvious choice, but I have a workout partner that can join on occasion in an OC-2. Are there OC-2 that are designed to handle only one paddler at a time and if so what are the drawbacks (additional weight, steering, etc). Can you recommend some of the top designs and manufactures of OC-1 & 2 for use in open water.

I don't know any OC-2s that are designed to go with one paddler, so I wouldn't recommend it. It would be a little like paddling a OC6 with 3 guys. Also, I think it's easier to get better and you'll probably have more fun on a one-man. Although an oc2 can be really fun if you're moving.
Some good two-mans? The waveblade twoman from Wilder is pretty good in the surf. Many like the Keokea from Tiger. Even a new light Honu oc2 may be good. And I think I read somewhere that Outrigger Connection will be making a stingray oc2.
But really, I would recommend getting a oneman and hopefully your training partner will get one soon also. There are so many oc1s to choose from. You really should try before you buy. And it depends on where you will be paddling and in what kind of conditions. Also consider your size.

Anybody have some recommendations?

I recently heard that Colin Bartley has just made a stingray OC2 at 15kg!

This would be a hell of a lot easier to paddle with one guy than some of our 18kg canoes in Australia...
