The marathon started 1 hour ago in 15-20 knot winds with 1m seas making a
very challenging race. As the came around Dent Island and past the harbour
Shell Va'a were leading by 2 canoe lengths from Team N/Z Hawaii with Rai of
Tahiti another canoe length back. Outrigger Australia 2 canoe lengths back
in 4th.

Hi all , Sorry about the delay in getting the results up but this weekend
has just been huge. I'm putting the results onto the site now while everyone
is doing the marathon. Check the Ham Cup site in about 3 hours and they
should be up.

At Pentecost, Shell Va'a have a comfortable lead over Team N/Z Hawaii and
they are about to start the run home.

Hi All,

First results in for the 42km Coca-Cola Hamilton Island Cup.

Open Men
1st Team N/Z Hawaii - 3.10.20
2nd Rai Tahiti - 3.12.02
3rd Outrigger Austalia - 3.12.40
4th Shell Va'a - 3.15.08
5th Ikaika - 3.17.17

So the 5 fastest team in the world went head to head and Team Hawaii came
out on top. It was the most grueling struggle said Chris Maynard of
Outrigger Australia, with the first 4 canoes going side by side all the way
out to Pentecost.

It was awesome conditions!!!! They will be talking about it for the next 20
years!!!!!
