Tippy boat rigging

I currently have a Hihimanu and I am wondering if anyone else out there has any idea of how to make the boat more stable. Are there other Iakos available?

i've got a huki V1-A. talk about tippy. the thing is a hair over 13 inches at the beam. with a moderate water ama, i spend a lot of time swimming. one thing that helped was raising the ama up as far as possible. this makes the boat lean slightly left. you can also sit off-center to the left by half an inch or so. you can also add a small weight to the rear iako riser. but the best thing to do is just practice. after about 15 days on my huki, i'm finally getting to the point where i don't capsize unless i'm trying to fly the ama with a left brace or some other trick. i don't know how experienced you are. i'm practically a novice, although i've paddled kayaks and canoes seriously for about four years now. if your a very seasoned OC-1 paddler, i dont' know what to tell you.

Thanks for the reply well I would try and adjust the ama but the Hihimanu has no adjustment on the ama just the Iakos are adjustable in and out. I already have the iakos all the way out and it is still unstable. As for experince that is something I'm stll working on the last time I had an OC-1 was 6 years ago and it was an Arrow (Karel) and even that seemed to be more stable than this canoe, other than that I've paddled OC-6 for more than 6 years prior to that. I have talked to others that have the polaris and waveblades they all say that in the long run I would prefer to have a tippy boat so I can fly the ama more often and I have heard thru the grape vine that others who have the Hihimanu love the boat and swear by them so I guess your right that I just have to pratice.
