Aloha- Back in Vancouver after an amazing time in Hawaii. Boy is it hard to go from hot, hot, heat to dreary grey rainy days. I've been searching around the forums and haven't heard a word from any ladies about their Na Wahine experiences. I'm working on a little play by play of the Jericho crew's race to post here but in the meantime would love to hear from others. It was an amazing race and well organized, as usual and with a record amount of crews. 25 years! Lets re-live it ladies.

i am in montreal and happy to see this picture :-). Are you going to french polynesia for the hawaiki nui va'a ? I am now on MSN with a friend at radio1 in Tahiti and he is in contact with a journalist in Molokai. I get some news about the race but mostly about Ra'i and Mahina...
team nz.hawaii did it !...one guy from Ra'i got a cramp or something pei.

i'm back!
I just realised that you Jericho wahine did very very good at the "na wahine o ke kai". Congratulations! I forgot that the wahine race was not the same week-end as the "tane". I am all about Tahiti these days and that's how i got to know outrigger racing. I am planning to move in the south-pacific for a few years. I lived 18 years off and in B.C. and i know Jericho beach and the Okanagan as well. Lived in Winfield. Cortez island, Sunshine Coast even Fort Nelson. At the time i was not aware of the outrigger (va'a in tahitian).
My friend in tahiti was so sad Ra'i didn't win that he left for home without telling me the official score. So i will go again looking for this info. maybe at holoholo.org
