Hurricane paddling technique

I am new to paddling a Hurricane and have problems with the hull pounding when I hit swells head on, and the nose burying when I take off on medium size swells. I would appreciate any suggestions from the Hurricane Vets out there.

Thanks .......... Nik

When going over waves try not to be perpendicular to it when coming down. As you go up angle your boat a little to the left or right and you'll come down much softer. As for surfing do the same. Angle a bit so youre not so perpendicular.
