So... Kauai had a rather odd regatta season, we had only half mile races and keizo could never seem to find the results to post on ocpaddler.. but the best part of all just occured a few days ago. I guess most clubs on kauai were not aware of somekind of paper work that had to be submitted, so all of our lanes were given away! ha, thats hilarious (if you could hear the tone of my voice... there's a tinge of sarcasm in it) ... i'm not really sure on what happened, all i know is that kauai will have almost no representation in states.. all summer we gruelingly went to six man practice, and now we are told that we cannot goto states.. why does this not happen to any other island??

Sounds like a another beautiful example of "paddletics" I'm sure someone had it out for someone else, so now an entire island misses out. I can't see how ALL the lanes would be given away on a paperwork glitch... something must be goin on.

i found out a little more today.. i guess it's only our club thats not going, not an entire island.. something was missing from the paperwork and we werent notified while some other clubs were notified.. thats all, so i guess was our fault... but whatever happened, still a pretty shitty situation for our ten or however many crews were preparing to go up

This is so ridicules......bottom line....its this kind of situation affects the kids.....our club was DQ'd for one of the kid's race.....we already gave up one of the adult's race cause of the travel cost. Our island should be better represented. I want to know who forgot that this Hawaiian sport is part of the culture to teach the kids....its for the kids. There are always new people involved and they should find a way to better inform them of the paper work.....we dunno....It's bad enough to try and keep the club together and keep the politics out. Paddling should be paddling.....why all the pilikia. Well, pretty soon its one man season....ho....now cannot wait....no bullshit....
