Two weeks til Steinlager Catalina Team Relay

The Catalina relay is just two weeks away. The entry's are flowing in and it is looking to be a great turn out. We have made some significant changes to the race this year.

Vancouver Island Championship Race - Sept 25-26

P2 Victoria & Foundation 2000 plus invite you to the first ever Island Championship Race on Saturday September 25th & the solo race on the 26th! This event is for everyone.

NOVICE COURSE: For those new to outrigger we offer a 3km course with two turns in the protected lagoon at the foot of Royal Roads University. 1st 2nd & 3rd place finishers in men’s, women’s and mixed divisions will be recognized.

RECREATIONAL COURSE: This is an open water 10+km course. The start/finish line is at the mouth of the Esquimalt Naval Base and runs west to Albert Head, around a buoy and back. This course runs parallel with the shore at all times. Awards will be presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams in the men’s, women’s, and mixed divisions.

THE OPEN COURSE: This is an open water course. The start/finish line is at the mouth of the Esquimalt Naval Base and runs west around Albert Head, in toward Witty’s Lagoon around the island and then out of the bay into the open water again. A marker will be placed off shore with the intention of catching a downwind run back to the finish. $300 will be awarded to the first place men’s and women’s teams. $200 to the 2nd place men’s & women’s teams and $100 to the 3rd place men’s and women’s teams. Awards will be presented to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place mixed teams provided that there are 4 teams registered prior to the 13th.

Race Site: Royal Roads University
Canoe set-up: Friday September 24th from 5pm – 8pm
Race site will open at 7:30 am on Saturday the 25th.
Novice and Recreational races will start at 9:30am
Open Women’s race will start at 11:30am
Open Men’s race will start at 2:30pm

2004 Vaka Eiva - Pacific Cup - November 19-26

The Cook Island Canoeing Association is hosting the inaugural Rarotonga 2004 Vaka Eiva from the 19th to the 26th of November 2004. Our goal is to have at least one team from our Pacific neighbours (and hopefully more) and currently include Hawaii, Fiji, Tahiti, New Zealand, Australia and Samoa, although the event is open to clubs from around the World.
