This race was alot of fun from the little bumps to ride on the way back to the beach to the ono local food, music and backyard party atmosphere. This year was my first year for this race-- but I'll be back! Also, want to mention that Blue Makua was one of local boys that was went to Jarvis, Howland or Baker Island around the 1940's to in service to his country. See Hawaii International Film Festival's film, "Under A Jarvis Moon" and you will see Blue's name as one of the 150 local boys that were sent there. The islands were barren just alot of bird guano but they were actually bombed after Pearl Harbor by the Japanese and a couple of our local boys were killed.
