Big mahalo to all participants who showed up to endure what was a tough ass race to kick off the season. Light winds made for hard work from Rabbit Island to Hawaii Kai. Congratulations to Pat Dolan who has dominated our pre-season races and continues to do so in 2012! On the womens' side props to Arlene Holzman who took the women's OC1 division.

Hat's off to the surfski gang who also showed up in force today with Zsolt Szadovszki leading the field.

Special recognition to the Junior division and winner Kainoa Darval Chang who will eventually lead Hawaii's future on our next competitive push on a national level!

Equally impressive as our Junior competitors, massive respect goes out to our Super Kapuna Joe Ah Yuen who claimed 1st showing us that even at 70 years young there is deep paddling roots in Hawaii!

Mahalo to PA'A crew and safety staff for making sure our race day was a safe and successful event. Mahalo to our sponsors: Steinlager, NS Air, Makana Ali'i, Kamanu Composites, and The Shack Hawaii Kai. Congrats to Kulani Ryan for winning a brand new vacuum bagged Makana Ali'i paddle in our raffle drawing to add to his quiver (2nd win), and Mike Sullivan for his win in 60's division and scoring a new pair of Maui Jim Shades.
