Yeah That was pretty fun. Can't wait to see what new designs come out for next year. Hope the conditions are the same. Thanx for posting the vid.

wow. awesome footage.

if i were to take a guess i'd say Livestrong shows up for next year's channel with a little more rocker, a little shorter waterline, and a little higher volume ama. i would not want to race against the 'Alala in Kona, that's for sure!

Yep, was gonna say it.

Anyone else think the Livestrong boat could use a little more rocker for this day ?

pog

Nice. Don't tell me this cant be a spectator sport. Imagine how much fun to watch something like this in real time, not knowing outcomes?
Nice job Anders.

Best paddling video I ever seen! It seems like the video guys are improving alongside the paddlers and equipment.

Average age in the Livestrong boat is over 40 years old and still took 2nd.

Ama volume looks good, don't you agree ?
One paddler in the boat seems to struggle a bit; maybe switch crews with K and see how it goes. :)

The second video is very nice - how nice it must be to paddle that boat !

it looked like seats 4 and 5 were having trouble with their skirts. Maybe they need to eat a bit more to get a tighter fit? :-)

Awesome video.

seeing those other canoes in the video... i wonder why Livestrong didn't enter more than one crew? the other two hulls they were using look killer too.

#12 Wed, 06/23/2010 - 6:28am

OMG...I watched that video and then went to our club and looked at the thousands of dollars invested in our 'legal' canoes and had to wonder....how do we recycle all this fiberglass ?

#13 Wed, 06/23/2010 - 6:33am

fishing canoes...

#14 Wed, 06/23/2010 - 2:25pm

Yeah....with sails and we can donate them to the homeless. Trouble is ..no more fish around Oahu anymore and the Coast Guard would be way too busy.

LOVE these vids. So wish I was on the line for the Eono. Next year we hope to be.
Seen the footage of the Kamanu canoes and now this Livestrong one, Brilliant! But has anyone got any of the Pa'a lads in the spec canoe? Would love to see some. Chur

be sure to tune into Ocean Paddler TV starting July 5th. Our segment on this race will start to air. We were filming from the air and sea. It is so awesome. The show will air all month. Outside of Hawaii, you can watch it live by going to www.oc16.tv. We air at times that will work for all time zones. Hope you enjoy it.
A hui hou,
Terry
