#2 Wed, 03/31/2010 - 2:11pm

cant forget the one n only sean (john) kaawa

#3 Wed, 03/31/2010 - 2:12pm

AND AARON NAPOLEAN TOO!

#4 Wed, 03/31/2010 - 2:14pm

What about the na vahine? Must get one or two fast na vahine or more out there can stay with Lauren?

#5 Wed, 03/31/2010 - 4:46pm

And no Greg Long competing either

#6 Wed, 03/31/2010 - 6:38pm

If it's flat, Danny or Jimmy. If there's surf....

#7 Wed, 03/31/2010 - 8:22pm

With Dolans doing their Olympics thing, Judd and Kai hurt, Greg Long not coming, we look for the excitement with the guys like Aaron in surf. Is Danny coming? Not a complete cast of characters but whoever wins deserves it as the Molo Solo is no cake walk!

#8 Wed, 03/31/2010 - 8:53pm

All those guys out...hmmm
Here it is:
Danny
Jimmy
Mael
Manny
Felipe
Luke
Aaron A.
Thibert
Kea P
Aaron N.

#9 Wed, 03/31/2010 - 10:35pm

I would put Mark Frazier somewhere on this list for sure

#10 Thu, 04/01/2010 - 5:47am

Put Aussie Mike Murray on the list. Finish right behind Pat at Aussie Nationals last December, beating Kai, Manny and Aaron.

#11 Thu, 04/01/2010 - 7:24am

I think Karel will be prepared good for the race. And if there are Surfing Conditions, some guys are lucky if they can stay near him.....

#12 Thu, 04/01/2010 - 8:26am

Without a doubt, Fuzerider will dominate this race on a super secret OC Connection skunkworks prototype with reverse chines all over the whole boat. When the rest of the boys reach the finish, he will have a full revival underway and already patched things up with the Hawaii bureaucrats trying to shut down the races. Embrace the Change folks.

#13 Thu, 04/01/2010 - 9:15am

Fuze is no longer in the OC connection fold. Maybe Karel was too liberal for him : )

#14 Thu, 04/01/2010 - 9:52am

I think Jimmy Boy Austin will be the one to beat.....Manny right on his a$$. Mael darkhorse that could surface and surprise.

JawsOut.

#15 Thu, 04/01/2010 - 1:45pm

Hoot Hoot!

Hooo ta lolly, you guys are making my feathers ruffle just talking about the solo

Here they are

  1. Danny (If he doesn’t tire himself out from flexing his waxed body and talking about himself too much the day before)
  2. Jimmy Girl (if the race were a week ago. You may have had a chance but now your 30...menopause is around the corner)
  3. Manny (you got a smoking body but not quite as nice as Danny’s ;))
  4. Simeon (last chance to do well before church bells ring)
  5. Duke (heard he scored a new record on the oc paddler game)
  6. Tapa (without the 30 rack and the techno beats)
  7. Mael (if he doesn’t forget his rudder)
  8. Kaeo (if he doesn’t break his paddle cuz he’s so ANIMO)
  9. Smelly Foster (one of the most handsome bruddah's out there)
  10. Seany Kaaawa (if he can catch some waves like he did in "The Ride")

#29 Sun, 04/04/2010 - 7:33am

amazing!

#30 Sun, 04/04/2010 - 8:08am

Yes it is a very intriguing year with many subplots.

Who gets in the top 5?

Danny C. has been very quiet He will be in the mix no doubt.

Everyone has experience but Karel and Manny have many crossings and that will have an influence.

Karel will know when to push and when not to.

A few of the young guns will have to make sure to not go out too hard.

We will see.

#31 Sun, 04/04/2010 - 5:03pm

The favourites may be so busy checking and watching each other that a dark horse surprises everyone.
What chance the Dolans flying back in for the weekend?
Or a bolter from the South?

McLovin: After State's, the other na vahine has got to be that McKee paddler. That was an amazing performance she did Saturday. At 52, she's unbelivable!!!! Hope she enters the Molokai, for she just might stay close to Lauren? Never can tell?

#34 Mon, 04/05/2010 - 8:52pm

Top finishers from the past OC-1 SOLO crossings for males and females since 1999:

Good to see that Aaron Napoleon has signed on at the last minute I was starting to think he was gonna be a no show, and we all want to see if he is THE MAN? (fastest over 40 year old in the world) if only BIG JOHN was entered.

#43 Fri, 04/16/2010 - 12:44pm

Aaron Napoleon is DA BEST and UNTOUCHABLE with any water sport in DA world, no matter his age. Hawaiian can get down!!

#44 Fri, 04/16/2010 - 2:12pm

Wasn't Aaron in a surf movie as well? I've heard stories of his big wave surfing skills as well. Dude is amazing.

#45 Fri, 04/16/2010 - 3:18pm

In the world of OC paddling, maybe.
Better than Harold Akeo ?
That is not to say that Aaron is not very impressive.

#46 Fri, 04/16/2010 - 4:07pm

One word riggsnapoleon

#47 Fri, 04/16/2010 - 4:57pm

As Kai has probably been out on his OC1 4 times since AUS (and all in the last 3 weeks) due to injuries, it will be amazing if he finishes in the top 5. But then again...it will be interesting to watch! Good luck to Kai and everyone participating for a great race and most importantly, having fun on the water! Look out for Aaron N- he sounds excited!

#48 Fri, 04/16/2010 - 5:53pm
