Here's a GoPro full footage montage of the last ILH Varsity I race that I raced in. I recorded this on my GoPro and edited it to the highlights of the race. We ended up coming in second place, right behind Kamehameha. I paddled for my school, Le Jardin Academy, stroking the canoe. Only thing is my camera died about a minute before the finish, other than that, I got everything else!

@logan, great video, thanks for posting. Looks like Kamehameha put some space on you on that first turn. And how far ahead were they at the Kewalo buoy? LJ had a great season. Congratulations.

@archy thanks! and ya they did, they kinda pushed us outside of the buoy right neat that first turn, so we had to paddle right so we could stil turn around the buoy. And at the kewalo buoy, they were about a boat length and a half ahead of us.

Is seat three typically using a steering blade or a regular paddle?

I would think a regular paddle would be fine for flat/smallish conditions. Any type of surfing and I would definately use a steering blade, or at least a massive oversized tahitian tennis racket paddle.
