Yep! the marketing hype has sure been tricky.
People are so easily sold on boats built like composite aeroplanes that hang together for a few Molokai solo events, and are supposed to be "better, faster" while able to set "record breaking times" at "inaugural Molokai OC" races.
Tahitian689, great job on the footage. Great soundtrack and continuity. Trying to figure out the artist on the Super Aito DVD prior to DaddeeYankee. I think its like a Spanish reggae type song.
The top guys are so fast that there either passing or staying with the surfki's during the Te Aito. Another thing I noticed is they maintain hull speed and rarely come to a complete stop. And these guys don't break. Manutea would pass Mike Varney, then Mike passes Manutea, then Bruno comes out of no where just revving. Very motivating.
Wondering if you have this years Hawaiki Nui race.
For us Hawaiians trying to figure out the rest of the field, wondering if you could name some of the other paddlers that aren't brand name but are right behind the bulls.
I agree with you Kimo.

If these boats can be sold for the price of a SUP and are built to more rugged specs, then we've all made a wrong turn somewhere.
You can beach them, too, I suspect.
