#31 Wed, 10/29/2008 - 8:38am

Who is paddling Connection? Could it be team Hawaii?

#32 Wed, 10/29/2008 - 8:52am

I think paddling connection is a Tahitian team. I also think I heard Team Hawaii was in 11th place. My french is a little rusty so I may be wrong.

#33 Wed, 10/29/2008 - 8:56am

true that Kimo, Paddling Connection in a Tahitian Team, and until Hiro was helping us Team Hawaii was trying to break top ten.

#34 Wed, 10/29/2008 - 9:03am

Sounds like Shell has an 80 meter lead over a group fighting for second.

#35 Wed, 10/29/2008 - 9:17am

Jibofo could you pass me the link to that live radio you are listening?
mahalos

#36 Wed, 10/29/2008 - 9:43am

mariano,

here was the link that hiro posted : radio

#37 Wed, 10/29/2008 - 9:57am

Back for a moment.
Shell OPT and EDT are on a northern route, going toward Tahaa.
On a more direct course Matairea is leading (Manutea Owen's team) with Paddling Connection behind. Paddling Connection is Wilfred AhMin's team. They choose a shorter path but will have to fight the outgoing current of the pass during the last kilometers.
Fare Ara is going south.

#38 Wed, 10/29/2008 - 10:02am

#66 Wed, 10/29/2008 - 11:40am

yep Timmy,
Luke Evslin, Kelly Foster, Donovan Leandro, Mael Carey, Kekoa Cramer, Reuben Dearlove (Roratonga), Travis Grant (AUS), Greg Long (AUS), and Conan Herbert (NZ).

#67 Wed, 10/29/2008 - 11:45am

Thanks timmy.. heres the crew:
"Good luck to Team Kamanu ‘Oiwi — Luke Evslin, Kelly Foster, Donovan Leandro, Mael Carey, Kekoa Cramer, Reuben Dearlove (Roratonga), Travis Grant (AUS), Greg Long (AUS), and Conan Herbert (NZ)."

I had a feeling Mael and Kekoa would be on that crew...both skilled paddlers, kekoa is unreal steersmen.

If you listening to radio and it sounds like team hawaii took 10th, i think they mean team from hawaii (Kamanu) as Hiro said above "dont know what happened to team hawaii"

#68 Wed, 10/29/2008 - 11:46am

I don't know if that's right. There is a team called Hava'i from "Raiatea" and they came in 10th, but I do not think that it was Kamanu Oiwi. The number on the canoe that came in 10th was 171 and I believe the number on the Hawaiian canoe (Kamanu) was 668. See here for a list of the crews.

#69 Wed, 10/29/2008 - 11:57am

i' m afraid you are right, that team in 10th is TEAM HAVAI boat 171,

TEAM OIWI
TEAM HAWAII are not in the top 20, and not in the official results.
