Yeah, long way back. Be interesting to hear some details.

Team Hawaii got hit from behind on the start so had to spend about 30 mins or so trying to fix it with tape so that it wouldn't let in too much water.

hence the unfortunate and perhaps disappointing result - but hey, that's racing

Well done everyone else that even starts that race!

bummer- part of racing is avoiding circumstances like that. Must of been a fast crew coming up on them.

I was looking at the photos and videos from yesterday.

Hiro I have a couple of questions.

I thought there was a rule about all teams having to wear the sponsor's jersey or every team wearing the same shirt. Has that rule changed?

The video showed alot of riding boat wakes-of course there are so many power boats that you can't avoid it, but it appears that some crews chose course to follow wakes and were not hiding that fact. Is there a rule on that?

Also it appears Shell Vaa's first crew has a new boat. What model is it?

You have to cross the start and finish lines wearing the sponsor jersey... during the race you wear what you want.
You can ride wakes. But your escort boat can't make a wake for you to ride... If you're riding the wake of another team's escort then no problem ! The captain of this boat is the one who have to be aware of where his wake is...

They have a new canoe. Don't know who built it.
Yesterday, on TV, Lucien Tara said they had problems during the first leg to adapt to this canoe... maybe it's all in their head ;-)
