Wow, I bet that was a great finish to watch, or even better to be a part of. 4 or 5 guys all a few seconds apart.

I would love more details on this race. Did the tahitians race rudderless? If not what did the think of the "Hawaiian" style OC-1 they were on.
I debate with myself-the only one who will listen or talk to me.
What if?
Molokai OC-1 race big day 4-6 feet with 20 MPH
Tahitian style OC-1 with a rudder built in and George Cron. paddling it
vs.
Karel Jr on Zephyr
Who would win?

I was not there, but here is what i was told.
They were on OC-1.
They were on Pueos with rudders.
They started about 100 yards behind since they thought the start would wait till all boats were on the line. From that far back they finished where they did in a boat they had never paddled.

so the adage is still the same ...
it's not the boat it's the engine that matters!

Keizo is on fire!

The boat definitely matters, too - ask Jimmy Austin.
Junior has won them all so far in these conditions.
Keizo is on fire.

Mael Carey is smokin' fast this year! He whipped everyone on Maui (using a V-1 no less) on Saturday, then turned around and took 2nd on Oahu the next day. He's a rising star, so keep your eye on him.
