Picture thread

Hey guys, this may sound stupid, but i kinda wanted to start a picture thread. There are alot of these on like paintball forums and car forums. So this is the thread to just show off that awesome paint job, or that amazing wave you caught off the mokes. Maybe you want to just post pics of the family. its all good. comments and vids welcome as well. Its just a thought, so go crazy.

Mahalo,

#16 Tue, 05/12/2009 - 6:55pm

Some really cool pics but 1968's pic with the traditional paddle - no T-top on the handle was a true classic - I had to wonder, where is that crew now that was so successful as kids?

The NAC OC-3 was interesting but the dugout samoan outrigger was awesome.

Paddling at 6000 elevation - kills!!

mahalo for sharing!
Great post

That pic from 1980 above was from a defining year for me. I remember a lot about my paddling years, but that year stands out above the rest.
It was my first year. We went into states tied with the senior master men from our club with 6 golds and 2 silvers. The SM men were kind of giving us shit about it, but when we finished our race at states with a win, they were all on the beach cheering us on louder than anyone. During their race my crew were all on the beach screaming our heads off for them. They took silver, and when they came to the beach they all came staight to us as a group and hugged and cheared for us. It solidified paddling as part of my life forever!

Mulus: Absolutely wonderful watching the na opio paddling without rudder and ama. That's the only way to teach them how to paddle a true canoe. For a true canoe is only steered with a paddle and not a rudder.

These were taken back in Nov '06 in the middle of the Red Sea of the USS Anzio, Eisenhower and Saipan. Kept looking how flat and calm the water was that morning when we were just going along. Now as I look at the photos I think how cool it would have been paddling a one-man or even a 6-man canoe in the middle of the Red Sea.

Wow guys, this thread is booming. thanks for all the posts. awesome pics! Just wondering, not to be biased or anything. But i know Karel has been making some ospreys lately for some guys. Anybody care to show off there paint jobs? I know kamanu and outrigger connection has been producing some sick designs lately. May help for some inspirations for future boat buyers! but keep it going, really loving all the posts!
