Would This Boat Work

I am looking for a cheap starter boat to get out in the water(flat and small surf). Nothing planning on doing any serious racing but need to get back out on the water soon. Basically I am 6' 235. I'm hoping this boat has enough volume to float me. I tried out a friends Hurricane without too much of a problem. Any feedback would be hugely appreciated.

PS: I know most of you would say but a Scorpius or newer boat but money is a little tight.

In about a month and a half, The Earth Trot Project will be paddling an OC-6 from Kihei, Maui to Kalaupapa, Moloka'i to donate to the community down there. I'm looking to try paddling an OC-1. The threads I've seen here in the forums do not look promising for trying to rent one. So, I'm hoping that a resident paddler would be willing to let me try one out. Mostly, I just want to be able to take one out for and hour or two in relatively calm water, maybe try to catch a little swell if it feels right.
