New to the Forum

Just wanted to introduce myself. Just bought my first OC-1, a 2013 Ozone Storm. I have been very active in downwind stand up paddling for a several years, and I am so stoked to get going on the the original downwind machine! Finding lots of info on here so far, so thanks again for all the insight.

Sr master male paddler seeks seat in Maui for workout 9/28 thru 10/10

Aloha!

My name is Michael Baranowski & I paddle with the Tamalpais Outrigger Canoe Club in Sausalito, California. I’m travelling to Maui for vacation (Sept 27th thru October 10th). I’m an experienced Sr. Master paddler hoping to arrange a seat for a workout or two or three while on Maui, preferably near Lahaina.

I do not want to disrupt practice or take a seat from somebody. However, if you have a seat available, I’d welcome the chance to paddle with you. Naturally, I’d be more than happy to offer a donation to your club for the opportunity.

Canoes Needed for Pailolo

We have many crews coming from out of state this year for the Pailolo Challenge. Crews are willing to pay for rental as well as shipping from whatever island they may come from. If there are crews going to Na Wahine and Moloka'i Hoe, this is a great opportunity to make/save money. Renting crew will pay for shipping to Maui, race canoe to Moloka'i and we will delivery to Hale o Lono for Na Wahine or Moloka'i Hoe - ready for you to race!

Please give me a call if you have a wa'a available. Mahalo!

Escort Boats for Pailolo

Aloha,
We are looking escorts available for the Pailolo Challenge on September 13, 2014. The race starts at DT Fleming Beach on Maui and ends at Kaunakakai Harbor on Moloka'i. I have many crews from outer islands and out of state that need escorts. Boats must be insured. Rates are running between $600-1000 and $40/person post-race ride back to Maui. Please contact Arianna (808)359-8641 with any available escorts for this great race.
Mahalo!

need help to learn what kind OC1 this is?

I have a OC1 but have no idea what it is - I know it was custom made by SIC, they usually build SUP's. I got it to get started with OC1 paddling and to amend my 6 man practice. It is great to practice and use for rec paddling and it is super easy to put together, nothing for racing though..... now I got beyond the "playing around" and want to sell it but have no clue what a realistic / fair price is???? I 'll attach a picture - any advise appreciated.

well at least I try a picture.... not sure it works....

The islands of Maui, Moloka'i and Lana'i are prime and the channels that surround it are also some of the most
challenging in the world. It is the goal of the Maui Nui Canoe Race Planning Committee to:
• Help keep the traditions of wa'a thriving on the neighbor islands
• Create partnerships within the community
• Share the Hawaiian culture with the visitor and educate the resident
• Help support local businesses and the economy
• Encourage healthy fitness lifestyle alternatives.
