Big turnout for Sarento's season opener race

[Video Clip (9 mb windows media)] by dmehling
Newlywed’s Kai & Lauren win their respective divisions in the MCKC Sarento’s Season opener. It was a classic South Maui, Kihei day, warm sunshine, calm waters, turtles and a lot of muscle (and a whole lot of strong will) to get through it all. The carrot at the end of the stick? That’s got to be Aaron’s spread of food, drinks and live music at Sarento’s Restaurant.

Maui Canoe & Kayak Club

Description:

MCKC is primarily focused on organizing and running races during "one-man sesaon" for Maui County (Maui, Moloka'i and Lana'i). Our culminating event is the Starbucks Maui Challenge, a 26-mile, open-ocean race from Flemming's Beach on Maui to Kaunakakai Pier on Moloka'i, across the spectacular Pailolo Channel. We welcome paddlers from around the world to participate in our events and experience our aloha. Whether you paddle an OC-1, OC-2, V1, paddleboard, or stand-up paddle, first-year paddler or veteran, we have a competitive division for you. It would be difficult to imagine a more friendly and skilled 'ohana of padders. Come play in our water and you will understand why people say Maui is No Ka Oi!
