Interested

Hello all,
I am just back from Kauai and enjoyed what I saw with the outriggers surfing the waves. Then on the flight home our flight attendant Everett Ka’ae noticed us reviewing our photos on our laptop. He gave me some info about the sport and I am interested in learning more but having a difficult time finding websites or info on different canoes and set ups. I am interested in one and two man set-ups. Also saw a picture of one with a sail I found interesting.
I live in the Galveston area. Any info and direction would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kirk

Ps: I anyone knows how to contact Everett Ka’ae please pass on to him that I would like to hear from him

States

A great race. Hawaiians kids were awesome, Hui Lanakila's Women were BAD and Lanikai's Mens division "scary". As were the other winners. Like Keaukaha's 40 mens crew, Nate Kaluhiwa is da bomb. However "Our Sport" should come first, power to the paddlers. Clubs, Associations and Officers/Officials should be above reproach, instead of putting themselves into "power players".
Hui Wa'a Blew it with a series of "I'm better than you" moves that shows they are still J.V.s. AUWE! Politics is for the government, it has no place in paddling!

Recreational Paddling

Aloha,

I live real close to the Cove and was wondering if you offered recreational paddling for adults? I'm trying to find a club that goes out after work instead of early mornings.

I only paddled for one year on Oahu when I was in high school for Waikiki Surf Club. But I'd love to get back into it for fun if that's possible here on Maui!

Mahalo,
Lisa

Lost board bag at Kaluakoi

We left a 16 ft. Da Kine board bag at Kaluakoi before the Molokai Paddleboard race. Our name, address, and phone number are written in huge lettering on the board bag. Anyone see it??

Looking for a Makana Ali'i Paddle

I've been trying to find out how to get a paddle. Can anyone help direct me to the right people/contact?

Poi

I love poi. To me the best is about three days old. Most people like fish and poi but I rather have steak or any kine meat. Actually I do like fish but more like tuna or sardines with shoyu, vinegar, onions, and chilli pepper water. Oh I put black pepper on top too. Soup is also real good with poi. Call me crazy but I dont really like Hanalei Poi. Too sweet for me. My kids love it but for me if it is too purple I gotta put hawaiian salt to give it the sour taste. I like pepper beef jerky and poi, I pretend likes its pipikaula. But in my opinion, you cannot eat poi with everything. Like eggs bacon and poi dont match to me. Gotta have rice. or Loco Moco, gotta have rice. But laulau and rice just doesn't cut it. One time I ate potato chips and used poi as a dip. My friends thought it was gross but I told them tasted just like taro chips. Poi is also good to wait till your friend is all buss and when they fall asleep you rub poi all in their eyes and when they wake up it's like they think they have the most intense makapiapia in the world. I guess this subject has nothing to do with paddling but I wish I had at least one of those little poi cups right now. I got some lomi lomi tomato my cousin made and this onion bagel is just not doing it.
