Molokai Hoe Results... Tahiti Takes On The Surf As Well ... End Of Story

I am only a novice paddler but already I can see the results from the higher stroke rate of the Tahiti teams and the way they keep the hulls speed up so that they can catch the ground, swell, amazing to watch.I just wanted to put this out there in the paddling world since i know its been around for a long while, what do we have to do to beat Tahiti on our own waters ? If you post the statement there crews are more experience, I would say that is not at all a good enough argument since crews like Outrigger have been paddling since birth and train just as hard...so lets put are thinking caps on and come to some sort of idea on how we shall make up the two mile difference in the next few years to hold our race in Hawaiian hands once again...

Event Description:

The Molokai Hoe is a 41-mile open ocean race that launches from Hale O Lono Harbor on Molokai and ends at Duke Kahanamoku Beach in Waikiki, Oahu. Watch as Lanikai Men defend their title against crews from Tahiti, Japan, Singapore, Italy, Australia, California and Hawaii.

This year marks the 55th crossing of the Ka 'iwi Channel, which separates the islands of Oahu and Molokai. The Ka 'iwi Channel has been touted, at times, as one of the most treacherous spans of ocean in the world.
