Hi - just wondering if anyone knew what the word is on canoe manufactorers for the 2008 Worlds?
i'm looking at buying an OC1, and figure i might as well get what people will be using in 2008 (am hoping to compete, and want to avoid any surprises in the canoe handling department).

Where's the Catalina Results? I checked the web site " U.S Outrigger Championships " and all I've been getting was; " results will come momentairly." And that was on Tuesday. Today is Friday the 15th. Was that race that huge of a turn out that results are still being put together?

I know that the Queen Lili'uokalani race weekend results were out quickly which had about 150 plus for the women and another 130 plus for the men for Saturday and also having the Sunday's results as well from oneman, juniors, and double hulls for the paddling community to view.

Is the Catalina race still going on?

I recently had an experience where I huli'd in very challeging circumstances (big wind, big waves coming from 2 directions, near shallow rocks). I had trouble getting back onto my canoe (Huki) without letting go of my paddle. At one point it got away from the boat and I had to go after it. (A good argument for having a spare paddle aboard).

I was wondering what others do with their paddles while they are getting back on their boats in these types of situations. Any suggestions?
