SoCal Iron season finale, Kai Elua Championships - June 26

Saturday, June 26, marked the season finale for the Iron portion of team outrigger racing in Southern California. And the weather didn't disappoint! Blue skies, a warming sun, and a gently building onshore wind. Competitors arrived to the race venue deep in Mission Bay to a most impressive beach scene.

Hobie Treasure Island Ocean Paddling Series Race 1 - Florida

With Tropical Storm Arlene making a track up past the Florida West Coast on Saturday providing some fantastic downwind runs reminiscent of Hawaii, all guessing was on for the what the weather gods would produce on Sunday 12th of June for the inaugural Hobie Treasure Island Ocean Paddling series..

Hokuloa Ironman SOCRA race 4 - Ventura, CA - June 11

On Saturday, June 11, competitors gathered in Ventura Harbor to compete in the fourth stop of the SCORA race season. Consensus is that the conditions were some of the best in years! Hokuloa Outrigger designed a scenic triangular course which passed by historic Surfers Point at California Street, and featured a final leg directly down wind and down swell.

Lanakila wins Kahanamoku Klassic ironman

On Saturday, June 4, close to 1000 competitors gathered in Marina Del Rey to compete in the third event of the SCORA race season. Held in moderate conditions, morning haze gave way to a beautiful sunshine and light winds. The race is named the Kahanamoku Classic in honor of the late Sandy Kahanamoku, great-nephew of Duke Kahanamoku. Sandy played an instrumental role in guiding, promoting and perpetuating outrigger canoe competition in Southern California. As founder of the host club, Marina Del Rey Outrigger Canoe Club, Sandy's influence and passion continue to define his club and this premier racing contest.

Auntie Mary Jane Heihei LD Results - Big Island, June 4

Results of Auntie Mary Jane Heihei long distance canoe race held at Keauhou Bay. This event is an all mixed (coed) crew format with 3 men and 3 women racing in each canoe. Named for one of the founders of Keauhou Canoe Club, Auntie Mary Jane Kahanamoku, this event is held on an open date during the regatta season in early June. No regattas are scheduled this weekend due to Hawaii Island High School Graduations.
