Hello,from U.K. what would be considered the best flat water OC2? It would be used on rivers and canals in U.K. the highest wave ever encountered would be the wash from a passing cruser !! Also what speed could one expect over say 2/3 miles with good club standard paddlers.Any sugestions would be very welcome.

Has anyone ever repainted their canoes? are boat colors normally added to the gelcoats? or are the boats actually painted with some kinda marine/polyurethane based paint?

Hi,
I was wondering if you could help me figure out something.
I've been paddling in an OC6 for 2 years now on the French atlantic coast, and sometimes trainings and even competitions get messy.
In this part of France, we do our best without skilled supervision, but we lack some insight.
The redondent issue :
Do you have a captain aboard every OC ? If so, is he the steerer ?
If not, how do you manage steering decisions like : race strategy, or urgent decisions (collision hazard, swell management ...)

Hi guys
I've been asked to join my outrigger activities to a multi-sports week-end for the disabled.
Although I'm looking forward to the event,I'm a bit nervous and was wondering if some of you could give me their insights ?

What are the limitations, and how to handle them ?
Is there a kind of disability radically unmanageable in an outrigger ?
I clearly see how a paraplegic would paddle, maybe harder than I do actually ! easy cake.
I assume blind people would follow the "hut" sign easily.
What about deaf people ? How can I help them keep in rythm ?
