If anyone needs a spot for their canoe for the Moloka'i relay, we've got 3 open spots on our trailer which is leaving Kamanu Composites at 10:00 tomorrow morning. Call me at 228-8609 if you want to reserve a spot.

Preregistration for the first race of the 2010 HVA season should be open this week. Keep your eyes peeled for updates! Also the schedule has been updated and we will be moving the first race of the season to May 29, 2010. The course and location will remain the same. Race format will be similar to our first race with single lap heats and a two lap final event.

Just to give you an idea of what race course will be see the picture below. Also we've added a few details in the calendar section on the OCP main page. Hope to see you folks there!

A question just to entertain:

It is quite easy to define a 'non-elite' paddler, more difficult to define an 'elite' paddler.

For an Olympic sport or a sport with National championships that would be easy; but how about OC 1 ?

Who is or was an elite paddler ? What did he/she win ?

Any results from this past weekend race?

We escorted Crystal and Dayna of Wa'akapaemua in the Women's OC1 relay. I can't identify most of the paddlers in these photos but maybe you will see yourself. Congratulations to all the paddlers. BTW those are dolphins not sharks.

Just read the Dolan boys took first in the K-2 1000 meter race. Congrats boys! Anyone heard any other news? What about Brandon Woods? Anyone have news on the junior races?

2010 Steinlager Kaiwi Solo Video, "Rude Awakening" by Painted Cave Studios will be done and for sale for $25 at the post-Molokai Relay Party. The proceeds support PAA. (Great Conditions, Super-Tight Race, HD Aerial & Water Footage and Kicking Sound-Track). Also, the video will eventually be available on the PAA web-site.

does anyone know if there such a thing for oc1 paddling camp? intrested in sending my boys for summer to learn the how tos on oc1.please lmk if there is such a thing. aloha

So I'm a little late on this (it only took me 6 months to get off my butt and put it together). And it's not up to the standards of what's normally posted here, but I thought it might help fire-up some of the SoCal guys for our season opener in a couple of weeks.
