If your race fees on o'ahu go up and you're thinking about grumbing to the race organizers, remember this..........DLNR officials now have to be present at all races to the tune of $1,500.00 per race. If I understand this correctly, the channels affected are HK, Magic and Keehi. Just heard this on KHON 6:00pm news. I guess all the commercial enterprises who use these channels rule. Please correct me if I am misinformed.

A few weeks ago a boat washed ashore at Kailua beach after a hit by a whale.

As far as I heard, a coast guard notified the owner later; but when the owner arrived, the boat had already been taken away by someone else. This someone has meanwhile contacted a repair shop and has been advised to return the boat. I don't know if he did or not. My impression was that the boat has not been returned yet.
( If that is not correct, my apologies )

I have just bought a Scorpius and have just come back from an 8 k paddle.
Even tho I have the ama set on the highest setting I still feel as tho I am fighting it all the time
It feels as tho the ama wants to lift out of the water all the time
Should I bend the iako a little?
Or do I just have poor technique
Any help would be appreciated

Wondering if anyone has (or is) organizing a trailer from Honolulu to Maui for the Maui to Molo race. I have at least three paddlers that are interested!

I've consistently rigged my offshore 4-man canoe w/ snaplashes (iako to hull) and cord (ama to iako). Last year, in bigger surf, the ama got torqued and cracked on top where attached to iako. This year I think I'm going to use rubbers for ama to hull AND I'd like to use them for iako to ama also. I really think it would take up a lot of the stress when surfing and torsional forces are applied. My ama is a channel master type with the two rigging holes.
