Aloha is alive and well.

Just got back home after a few weeks in Hawaii for the solo and Maui to Molo.
Would like to thank all the people who helped me and made my trip such a joy.
Luke and the guys at Kamanu for the loan of a great canoe and all their help at their busiest time, Manny and Pa'a for the solo (first Pa'a race I've done , wont be the last)
Eric and the crew on Maui for a fantastic event and the Napoleon family for their kindness and generosity of spirit.
Its good to know that our sport and its ongoing culture are in good hands.
Please come down to Australia , you will be welcomed.

Expanding OC Culture to the Philippines

I just returned from a Dragon Boat festival in Boracay, Philippines (http://www.boracaydragonboat.ph/) this week and after 3 years of having raced against the locals and making good friends with many of them it occured to me that they are hugely strong paddlers who know the oceans but they lack Outrigger Culture as a means of connecting with the seas. Those who have been there know the place is a beautiful 3rd world country where the people are friendly but fairly poor.

Hurricane to Pueo

Would anyone know out of all the people now paddling on Pueos how many were previously paddling on Hurricanes?

Cheers

Share Video

Just wanted to share this clip from New Zealand. Conditions weren't as good as previous year but still had something to work with and was alot of fun.

Mahalo

Just want to thank all who participated in Sunday's Kala Kukea Challenge. Hui Nalu Canoe Club appreciates your participation in the event honoring one of Hawaii's finest water man Kala Kukea.

Spray skirt/hoops

Our club is getting a new Mirage, manufactured out of Canada. We're on the east coast, U.S. The price for the canoe is what it is. We have a price for hoops and spray skirt from OC. Is it worth shopping around for these? It seems like anything we get will be coming out of Hawaii. In the past, I've been in touch w/ Stitch this...but have lost the contact info. I seem to remember everyones price being pretty much even. Any recommendations?

Pray for wind

Let us all pray for some wind for this weekends race.
