Hokule'a will be docking in Maunalua Bay on Monday Oct. 21st. There will be an in-water community greeting, and paddle out welcoming at 1:00 pm. Celebration at the dock to follow. See attachment for details.

When I did Catalina last year, I noticed quite a few unlimited class canoes. In this year's crossing results, I see over 25% of the canoes are unlimited. I heard Odi went over to build a bunch of Pure unlimited and John Puakea has been doing stuff as well. So what's the situation in Southern Cal? Are all clubs moving to unlimited designs? Is SCORA working on a new specification?

Many mahalos to all who tuned into the live broadcast of the Molokai Hoe today! TV Broadcast and paddling history was made and there are too many entities (mainly OHCRA, OC16, Verizon and Pasha) to thank.
This has been our dream for many years - to make outrigger canoe paddling a 'mainstream' sport - viewable to all...
... to experience what it is like to cross an open ocean channel, in the middle of the pacific ocean ... on an outrigger canoe.

Just a thought I like to bring up er'r yerar.

Don't bring all your food and drinks over and instead buy stuff on the island of Molokai. It's good people on that island and lets support them buy putting some money in their restaurants and shops. It's a little more exp to buy there but there's a lot of value in getting out in the community and meeting the friendly isle people while spending a little Oahu papah. That Mainland paper is really appreciated.

Because of a large miscommunication, my crew doesn't have a rental car for the Moloka'i Hoe. While we're getting prepared to spend the weekend hitch-hiking, we're hoping that someone might have some extra rental cars that they don't need and would be willing to rent to us.
