The 5th annual pre-season Kahiau Canoe Race will be pre-season teaser. The 2009 race was a success with a record 65 crews participating and we're predicting the same in 2010. Our goal is to have at least 75 crews. The Long Course will start in Ke'ehi Lagoon, turn on the Honolulu Harbor buoy and finish back into Ke'ehi Lagoon. The Short Course will start in Ke'ehi Lagoon, will continue to a buoy placed outside of Sand Island and back into Ke'ehi Lagoon (weather permitting for both courses). The short course will be for both the womens and mixed crews. Don't forget the "'Ono" food Keahiakahoe is know for. Let’s hope for some bumps and challenging conditions. We would like to extend an open invitation to all canoe clubs who may be interested in taking part in this highly competitive race.
Used 3.5 year old OC-1 Hurricane. In pretty good condition, it does have two places where it was repaired and one very , very small spot that I've thrown a sticker over to keep water tight on the top near the bow. The boat is watertight. Comes with a cover for the boat, ama, and iakos. Top is red, bottom is yellow. I use the boat usually about 2-3 times per month.
