Charleston, SC seeking a used OC-6!

Item Description:

Greetings everyone -

We are on the prowl for a used OC-6! Our small club in Charleston, SC is taking a giant leap and are looking for some canoes. We have one 6, but are in the process of building a fleet and 1 or 2 more.
I would prefer to keep the purchase with a day or 2 driving distance to save on shipping charges on international.

Please e-mail me at Lempesis.Peter@gmail.com if you have any resources or leads

Cheers and paddles up!

Pete

OC-1 for flatwater

I understand the reluctance to compare canoes on this forum. It's highly subjective and can also vary from paddler to paddler. But perhaps a more focused question could survive discussion. Which canoe might offer more efficient flatter water performance, Huki V1-X or Kamanu Pueo? I won't have an opportunity to paddle either but I trust both manufacturers enough to buy without trying. Sometimes that's just the way it is. My only observation is that the Huki seems to have a flatter waterline length with little or no rocker. I'm making no inferences though.

Steering an OC-6 for Newbies

Howdy everyone -

I've browsed for OC-6 steering topics and can't find much on here --

We are a small dragon boating and outrigger community in Charleston, SC that has recently gotten a hold of an OC-6.
We are taking her down to Treasure Island in a few weeks and I need some steering advice. There is no one around who can give me better pointers than what I have researched online, so if anyone has advice for me, I would really appreciate it.

I can steer her just fine and straight WITHOUT paddling, but I'm sure anyone with a sense of water can do that...
So here are my questions:
