any results of kawaiahao race on saturday?

To prove that sponsoring paddlers works, I was watching Travis Grant beat Danny Ching and then went to C4 Waterman (who sponsors Travis Grant) website for the first time ever and noticed a large selection of outrigger paddles. Has anyone given these a try?

I recently did an awesome road trip with a mate across Australia from Perth in Western Australia to Tweed Heads in Queensland to pick up our clubs new Mirage OC6. A 5,460 miles (8,787km) round trip, 3 days to get over there, a day off to go for a paddle and surf with Travis Grant, then 3 days to get back. Had an absolute ball, even managed to get a speeding ticket on the way back crossing the Nullabor (the big flat bit in the middle). And took a 350 km dirt road short cut so we could get a photo of a mates surf ski we picked up sitting on Wave Rock.

Make sure you link to the Queen Liliuokalani Race info. 2011 is the 40th Anniversary of this classic race weekend....the signature long distance race on Saturday, the multitude of triangle races on Sunday and the Alii Challenge on Monday (Labor Day). And there’s all the other events...cultural fair...torchlight parade...concert...awards and luau.

Can somebody tell me what that industrial tape is that I’ve seen some people put on their OC1s to avoid damaging it with their paddle? Our club just got a new OC6 and I was considering putting some on the bottom of the ama to avoid scrapes. Unless someone has a better suggestion. Thanks!
