SUP conflict in Hilo

Kinda paddling related, definitely water related. I love how the braddahs lay down the mana'o in this video. The man speaking at the end is Billy Kenoi, mayor of the Big Island. It totally made me miss Hawaii. Wat Sole..can no can?

New Pacific Paddler-Wow!

http://www.pacificpaddler.com/

This issue is amazing.

Ropati and staff bring so much joy to the paddling community.

The inside story about Team OPT is wonderful-thanks Tim and the type of insight we have been craving.

We troll OCpaddler.com looking for tidbits of what the top crews think and the drama behind the races but it is refreshing to see in print and online.

Kualoa/ Hakipuu Canoe Festival

Heard from someone last night that this event is happening again next weekend, march 12. Just wondering why I haven't heard more about it. Even the full page ad Puakea foundation took out in Februarys Pacific Paddler issue didn't mention it. It was a great event last year for me and my family. Can't figure out why its not getting more coverage...any thoughts?

Found: Sunglasses

I found a very nice pair of sunglasses after KI Race #4 at the HCKT boathouse. If they're yours, you'll know where I found them & what kind they are.

channel crossing

on sunday 2/27 mike spalding ( father of lauren bartlett) swam the 32 mile alenuihaha channel . starting at 3:00am at upolu point big island and finished at 10:43 pm at nu'u bay maui. 19 hours and 43 min. no touching of anything in between. you guys think paddling the molokai channel is tough..you are sitting in a boat for 15-30 minutes and then get out to rest. even if you iron the crossing..you arent out there for even half that time. think about this next time you get tired while paddling . oh yeah...mike is 63...
