First OC-1 Video Puerto Rico

This is my first OC-1 video on the Pegasus. I started to paddle this canoe two weeks ago, definitively my surfski days are over. The OC-1 is more fun and fly the ama is the ultimate experience.

First Regatta Races

you know its sad when the only sport native to the Hawaiian people and culture isnt even featured on the evening news. is there any one who has connections to the news media? we as paddlers should really do something about this for our sport. Imagine the realms our sport can reach if we can get the local media support! lets do something!!!

Trades Are Back!!!

Seems like there's been no wind here since Maui-Molokai. I know that I didn't paddle all of May. But the trades have finally filled back in the last couple of days. Maliko has been fun. North swells are gone, just the east wind swell, totally fun for relaxed downwind runs. Everyone and their brother is out there on SUPs, they outnumber the canoes.
Get it while its here.

Na Pali Challenge

Aloha,

Lolo Channel

Pretty much everyone on this site knows what "The Channel" refers to, the Kaiwi between Molokai and Oahu. One of the toughest stretches of water that a paddler can test themselves against.
Memorial Day weekend Debmaui and I took a trip over to a stretch of water even wilder than the Kaiwi, "The Channel" in Lake Havasu, Arizona. Considering that its the craziest stretch of water that we've seen, we've renamed it the "Lolo Channel".
And yes, we did paddle it.
Photo is Deb gazing in wonderment.

Looking for friends in Tahiti!

I'm a paddler from the states and more recently Australia. In one month I'm realizing my dream of paddling in Tahiti and mixing with the culture that I so admire. I'll be in Papeete from 5 July - the 25th and know no one and have no where to stay. I'm hoping for a little direction from some of you guys out there!
I speak french well, paddle surfski and one man. I'm 31 and have raced boats since I was 9 years old.
Please give me a shout if you know someone I may contact regarding volunteering, lodging, training, or general cultural immersion!
Cheers,

MR340 by Katie Pfefferkorn

I actually found this article in Fitness Paddling website:
http://race.fit2paddle.com/

The MR340 is a 340 mile endurance paddling race along the Missouri River.

The articles about Katie Pfefferkorn who enters this 340 mile endurance event. It seems like a pretty grueling endurance race. She works as a Chemical Engineer during the work week and competes in paddling, triathlons, local 5K races, and marathons.

Starting at the age of 21, Katie Pfefferkorn completed the course in a little over 98 hours.
In 2008, she finished in just 50 hours, paddling a 21-foot, carbon fiber racing canoe and sleeping only one-and-a-half hours.

Her times in the MR340 for the last three years...
2006 Woman’s solo, 98:36
2007 Woman’s solo, 58:57
2008 Woman’s solo, 50:00
2009 Scheduled for Aug 4 - 7

In 2007, Kate’s sister Jodi, a filmmaker, made the documentary Down River & Up Hill about the Missouri River 340

Awesome!
