Vaka Eiva - Muri Sprints & FUN Video

Another Episode in the Vaka Eiva 2008 series of videos. This was so much fun to shoot and edit, hope you enjoy it.
Held at picturesque Muri Lagoon, the sprint events are always keenly contested but most importantly, a huge amount of fun!! The World Famous “pop the ama” competition is a blast as are the "Boat Races"
The paddlers love this day and it sets the mood Muri Mingler" that nite on the beach.

Start the video then pause it, make a cuppa and let it fully load. Then you can play it as many times as you like for only one download as long as you don't close the window.

The soundtrack is a big part of the mood, turn it up loud. Play it in full screen if you like, just clip on the full screen button at the bottom of the video but you will lose resolution. Features some fantastic underwater and slow -mo sequences.

Cheers Ramboscie

BEWARE

I wanted to make it know to the paddling community to beware of a person named Jeffrey Lerner.
He lives in Philadelphia PA. but may have some ties to a paddling club in Maui. I am not sure of the connections but I was told that he was able to line up a canoe for some paddlers attending a race in Hawaii.

This person has stolen products from us & may be attempting to sell them illegally. The inventory of merchandise consists of PaddleMe Logo’d Paddle Bags, Men’s & Women’s Paddling Shorts & Jerseys.
Through an investigation, this person has been scamming other as well.
For example:
1) He has sold merchandise and never delivered or refunded the money.
2) Organized an event & sold tickets – the event was fictitious and never happened. He advertised that the proceeds would go to charity, but when contacted the charity has no knowledge of him.
On each occasions he represented himself with fictitious name. His real name is Jeffrey Lerner.

He has advertised selling Kialoa & Chinook paddles as well.

His known website was www.alohawaves.com -- it has since been shutdown but he may have others.

If you have contact with this person please beware. We can be contacted at info@paddleme.com

Rudder cable advice please

Hey Guys,

Volunteered to change some rudder cables on a couple older skis. One is a Rose Ski, not sure of the other one.
I have never had a problem doing this before but never changed them on these older boats which have REALLY skinny cable housings. Think cocktail mixer straws. On one, the old cables slide back and forth EZ, the other seems to be binding slightly ... Normally would not hesitate to pull old ones out as I feed new ones in right behind them as a precaution but the snug one has me a little chicken to do this. Anyone ever run into problems such as the housing splitting inside the boat / out of reach on these older boats ? Would hate for it to go to pieces as I pull the old one out.

Thanks.
aloha,
pog
