Canoe Repairs

If anybody is interested, I just started to fix one man's on a full time basis. I used to only fix them for friends on the weekends but my hours got cut at work so I have more time on my hands. I have around three years experience with fiberglass and carbon and can color match almost any boat. If you need any work done on your boat, and you live in Oahu, feel free to call anytime.... 808-354-4640 and ask for Chris

Margos` at sea again

Margo Pellegrino is off on another ocean awarness trip.
She has traveled thousands of miles and herself , her boat and her cause are still strong.

PA'A SOLO RESULTS

Steinlager Kaiwi Channel Solo

Big mahalo to all who participated in this year's solo and even made an attempt to cross the channel. Congratulations to those who somehow made it, big props. The challenge was huger than we could have ever imagined! Always looking from the positive side of things, I guess you could say that the light head winds which turned up a knotch towards the second half of the race kept us cool at least...sheesh. It was the type of race where the odds were already stacked against you, and you just hoped that not too many things went wrong which would quickly be the end of your crossing. The whole expereince definitely added some hair to the chest...sorry ladies!

Mahalo to all our staff: Registrar/timer Pua Paiaina, Set up crew and boat handlers Gavin, Keala, Darren, Bertram, James, Claire, MC's Kaleo Pilanka and Peter Olson, Film crew Marta, Brian, Cliff, Jaacque, Lono L, Lono G, Official boats Danny Loui, Joe, and Skip, and the Morris Ohana for our beautiful Spaghetti dinner the night before the race.

Mahalo to all our sponsors: Steinlager, Outrigger Connection, Kamanu Composites, KaiWa'a, NS Air, Makai Oceanlifestyle Magazine, Dakine, Xcel, Island Paddler, Go Bananas. Mahalo to The Shack for hosting our awards ceremony and for Kapena and Red Degree for entertaining the paddlers with awesome live music.

Extra Mahalo for the extra effort put forth by those who made the journey from Japan, France, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Tahiti, and the mainland states. We will try not to use up all our tradewinds before you guys get here next year!

Mahalo,
Manny

Pinks - lose your race, lose your... canoe?

I got suckered into watching this on Speed Channel last pm.. for those unfamiliar with the show, here's a blurb from the website

PINKS LOSE THE RACE, LOSE YOUR RIDE!
Two hot cars. Two proud owners. And it’s winner takes all in PINKS. Host Rich Christensen travels the country pitting two contestants against one another in this high stakes drag race. The negotiations are heated. The races are real. Emotions run high. And the loser walks home. PINKS: Lose the race. Lose your ride.

could you imagine replacing hot rods with OC-1's?

anyone ever bet their canoe on a race finish?

Fellow paddlers!

Hola!

My name is Nick, a relatively new (2006) paddler with the National Capital Area Outrigger Club (NCA).

We are hosting the DC Monumental OC6 race on 06/20/09, and hope you can make it!

Race info is on our website: http://www.ncawpa.org/oc/2009_monumental.php

We hope you can make it! 2008 was a great success, and we hope 2009 brings us the same luck!
