Respecting the Wa'a

Aloha, as we begin the start of six man racing I want to express my aloha to each and every paddler out there and hope you have a great season. My biggest aloha is dedicated to the wa'a especially towards a koa wa’a. Through the years I have been paddling I have learned a great amount of respect towards the wa’a. We as paddlers only have a few moments with a koa each weekend and should cherish it. As paddlers we should treat each koa as royalty; regardless of what club it comes from. Because each club, I would hope, treats their koa as ali’i of the club.

O'ahu paddling clinic with Manutea Owen

Manutea Owen will be putting on a paddling clinic at 5:30 at Kailua Canoe Club on Wednesday. Clinic will likely be entirely land based and will go until dark. Manutea will cover paddling philosophy, technique, V-1, and there will be a follow-up Q & A session. Recommended donation of $10 per person to help cover his airfare to Hawai'i. Kids under 18 are free.

Tahitian training

Does anyone know any details about the way tahitians train?
Besides of miles, miles, miles

Found OC1 seat

Found OC1 seat this afternoon (5/25/14) on H-1 West bound 1/2 mile after end of Kalanianaole Hwy as you pass Kahala Mall. Please let your fellow paddlers know. PM me to claim it. Thanks.

Time to start paddling V1's? Container from Tahiti

If after watching this years Solo you think maybe you'd like to start padding V1…. assuming that paddling a V1 is part of what makes the Tahitians so fast. Then now is a good time to get one… If there is enough interest I will organize another shipment of Tahitian V1's or V3's from Tahiti to Hawaii. (Can also send to West Coast if more demand than Hawaii).

Prices should be similar to last container of Fai3's, ARE and TIMI's we brought in:
$4900 for Carbon
$3900 Sglass
$2900 for hand lay up fiberglass

V3 hand lay up $6,500

Includes shipping to Hawaii.

Calling all South African paddlers

I'm thinking of putting a South African ladies team together for 2014 Queen Lili'uokalani Canoe Race. I can't believe we are not represented! Let me know if you are interested.
