Hi Everyone,

I am trying to determine if it is feasible for me to go on a long (thousands of KM along the coast of Brazil) OC1 paddling trip. I have talked to some of my friends, and one of the recommendations was that I should float the idea on OC Paddler to see if anyone has any ideas. Right now, I am thinking about doing this as some sort of beneficent adventure, also raising funds for a non-profit.

What's the accepted technique for a sprint turn in a V1?

Right sweep, left short backwater (or maybe just a poke), and repeat until done?

Anyone know of any place that sells waterproof ipods on oahu or places that waterproof them for you. And if you do own one what are your thoughts?

Saw this article on the news and wanted to give a big shout out to all the Kailua Canoe Club paddlers. Awesome community work!!!

I know the question may seem stupid at face value, but I was wondering if people have noticed a change in overall participationo of the sport. I know the sport is getting more recognition because of the increased coverage, but is it equating to more people wanting to try the sport? I know there is a huge rise with the individual disciplines such as oc1 and SUP, but have numbers changed much in the last ten years as far as clubs go?

Questions:
1. In your neck of the woods, are there more or less clubs than in previous years?
