Kialoa Teva Hoe "seem" occasionally cutting my hand.....

My kialoa Paddles, Foti & Teva Hoe seem, where carbon blade meets wood shaft is occasionally slicing minor cuts into my hand. OK to remove seem or any other solutions? Havent heard back from Kialoa yet, probally due to vacation season.

R.I.P to my beloved OCP.com

This site is dead!!

Hopefully the Torrent will become it's life support!!

Ironic maybe.

Clint Robinson wins 20 Beaches Race - Video

Kai, Lauren, Danny Ching, Aaron Napoleon all raced in this event on either OC1 or SUP (except Lauren - Ski) Due to the difference in times, unable to include them in the video. And Ryan, your coach Guy Wilding has a say.

Can anyone read the contents of the Kaimana OC-1 classified ad?

Sorry, but when I read the ad below in the Classifieds - whether I'm logged in or not - I get the message "You are not authorized to access this page".

Just wondering if everybody gets that message. If you don't, could you post what it says. Or e-mail me.

Thanks

What type of phone to carry in the ocean?

Ive luckily never had to use my cell phone in an emergency in the ocean....YET ..... while paddling. Ive always carried my smart phone ( touch type smart phone) in a waterproof credit card/document hard case, tied to my shorts, string tie. I was curious if I ever had to make that call, would the phone still be able to dial while in a ziploc freezer bag type cover? Im thinking about getting a prepaid, button type phone, kept charged just for the water. Even if I forgot to pay that monthly fee, 911 would always work.

Anyone ran into this type of situation ever?

Date for 2012 Molokai Hoe?

Can someone please post the date?

Looking to trade my 51" straight shaft Makana Ali'i for a 48" straight shaft Makana Ali'i

Looking to trade only, not interested in selling.

Mine has a few chips on the edges.

PM if interested.

Thanks!

Props to small market paddle makers

I want to use this forum to give proper credit to those small paddle makers, most of whom make high quality wood and composite paddles, and some of for inovations used by the larger paddle makers.
Maybe you can list names, locations, and highlights, and maybe pictures of their products

Heart rate monitors

Recommendations on heart rate monitors

I always purchase one and then it will either
a.) sink to the bottom of the ocean
b.) get eaten alive by rust
c.) water will get in and it breaks
have probably gone through 4 or so in the past couple years.

Looking for a watch type thing that is water resistant, has no metal outlets where water can get in. (just having a rubber cover doesn't cut it).

Double Bends?

I hear its bad to paddle with a double bend when everyone else in the boat has a straight shaft? is that true?
