Just wondering if people could share their comparisons of two different Kialoa paddles. I'm looking to replace a trusted old (but now broken) Dave's Hybrid. The two I'm looking at are the Axel II or the Nehu single bend.

I often paddle in an OC-6 behind two guys using Zaveral's, and we paddle at a fairly high stroke rate - which means the Lanakai might be too much paddle surface. I've tried a Zaveral for about an hour of paddling, and couldn't get used to it.

The paddle has to be useable in both big boat and OC-1.

I got my new Hurricane, here in Vancouver BC, this summer. What a great boat! I've been paddling it week in, week out.

However, now that the temperatures are dipping (-1 degree C today), you guys in the warm waters can't even imagine this, my feet, sitting in their little puddles in the foot wells, are getting mighty cold.

I did this race in 2010 and its time to do it again! My clubs "goal race" this year is Queen Liliuokalani. I will be in Kona for that, but i also have a 2 week vacation planned on Maui for October so thought it would be cool to try and get on a race crew. Depending on where the crew is based, my travel plans are flexible. I have trained fairly hard this year competing In M2M in April and lots of local racing in Canada. I have paddled for 12 years, lots of distance racing. I am 54 years young, 160 lbs and pretty fit. I can sit any seat except stroke!
