Looking for seat in Henry Ayau or Molokai Hoe

Anyone need an extra open paddler for Henry Ayau or Molokai Hoe?? Let me know. My team’s crew is mostly masters and we do not have enough to enter a second crew. Would love to race in both/either of these two events. Mahalo

Paddlers and Malama ka aina

Here is a short video that speaks for itself. It advocates only for being conscious with what we do, so that our keki will say our ancestors were wise.

9/11

Below is today's posting by the current president of New York Outrigger, Ed Acker, of a posting made by the then president of NYO, Roger Meyer. NYO paddles along southern Manhattan, and in those days frequently in the shadow of the Twin Towers. Many of the paddlers worked in that district and Meyers was concerned about his paddlers.

All, as a memory to 9/11, I thought I'd share with you the message Roger Meyer, then President of NYO, sent to this grouplist that day. It sounds like the first tower collapsed when he heard the rumble. Ed

Dear All,

Thanks to Lanakila OC paddlers!

I want the women from the Lanakila Outrigger Canoe Club to know how much sarcoma patients appreciate their support.

Their competitions raise money for the Sarcoma Alliance, an international nonprofit that provides education, guidance and support for people with this rare cancer -- like me. They are part of Ocean of Hope, the alliance's biggest fundraising campaign. O2H involves ocean sports, with teams participating in various competitions.

Molokai Flights for Na Wahine & Molokai Hoe

A friend of mine owns an airline and has charter flights available for the two Molokai Races. I have flown with them a number of times, and it is a super easy convenient way to go, minimizing security as well as having free parking. The only problem is that the planes are a bit bigger now, so it takes 30 people to fill the flight, which equates to about 3 crews. I am pasting the informaiton he sent to me. If you are interested mention the Molokai event when you call for information:

Anyone have the official results of the Lili'uokalani Race or knows who the top finishers were?

Lactic Acid

A three year old article in the New York Times about lactic acid's role. Completely different than I was taught in health/phys ed. Something to consider when planning your next aerobic/anaerobic workout regime.
